Poured in super-soft silicone, this sleeping baby boy is a perfect size for fitting 'tiny baby' (up to 6 lbs) size clothing. He is 17-18" and weighs 6.5 lbs.
Joseph is sculpted, moulded, poured, painted and rooted by Carolyn Doughty. He is poured in our soft blend 'mallow' silicone which is the highest quality blend of prosthetic grade silicone.
Joseph is being poured in a limited edition of only 20 babies, and only 10 of these are released as finished babies. Initially 6 babies will be released.
If you order a Joseph, when you pay your deposit you select a slot for when the baby will be ready. This will be a good few months away because we do plan ahead and have babies to complete each month. So between now and the time your baby will be ready, you can pay off your baby by making a payment every month. This is normally for around 12 months, so I will send you a paypal invoice monthly from the date you start paying.
For example, if in September 2022 you book the slot for the baby in December 2023, you pay 1/12th payment (£217) plus shipping immediately as a deposit to secure your slot, and then in February 2023 you start making 11 monthly payments of £217, the last payment is made in December 2023 and we aim to get baby home to you in December 2023.
Joseph comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity and a small box opening.
He will be shipped via DHL which means very fast delivery. Please note we are based in the UK, if you are buying from overseas you will probably be charged customs fees or taxes depending on your country's customs fees, please check this yourself if you are unsure. These custom fees could be as much at 30% of the value of the baby, so please be make sure you set aside a sum to pay this.
We are offering this baby for £2,600 (British currency), plus shipping. If you want to work out how much that is in your own currency please visit one of the many currency conversion websites (xe.com is very good). Please also be aware if you are outside the UK, your country MAY charge you a customs fee.

Although we do show our babies on our facebook pages (Our World of Chi and Carolyn Doughty Dolls) we do not sell through any other websites, so if you see our babies advertised elsewhere please be cautious, feel free to check with us by email carolyndoughtydolls@gmail.com if you are unsure. (There are silicone artists who do buy babies from us to custom paint for customers, and occasionally customers do sell on babies from collector to collector, but if in any doubt please do email us to check.)

The layaway we now offer is normally 12 months, and generally only one custom baby is made every month. These babies can be pre-ordered quite a few months ahead which means instead of sitting on a waiting list, you can book your slot and know you are getting your baby.
You put down a DEPOSIT which is a twelfth of the overall cost of the baby (eg for a baby costing £2,600, the deposit and monthly payments will be £217.
On the month your final payment is due your baby should be finished and ready to come home to you.
For example: if your plan starts in April, you will finish paying the following March and your baby will come home towards the end of that month.
(**Please note, because your baby is hand made from start to finish, occasionally there are events outside our control that may delay things, in which case we will inform you as soon as this happens**)
How to pay
All payments are made via Paypal. We do not ask you to pay 'friends and family' as this would affect your rights as a customer, we always take payments as a business which protects both the buyer and the seller, even though this means we are charged a paypal fee.
If you do not have to have a Paypal account, you can still pay by any debit or credit card via the Paypal system.
We always invoice in GBP currency (British Pounds). If you wish to work out the value in your own currency please refer to a currency convertor website (for example www.xe.com). We cannot invoice you in any other currency.
So I want to order my baby, what do I do?
You will see some options for ordering a baby. Choose the baby you would like, make sure you read all the information about your baby before ordering. If in doubt, please do email us (carolyndoughtydolls@gmail.com) and ask anything you want to know. Some of the babies are available as either a boy or girl, but some are not so make sure you are happy with the baby you are ordering.
Check to see what slots are available (eg April to December) and select your slot.
There are some choices you need to make, but if you are undecided you can choose some of the options later for example hair colour, and for some sculpts whether you want a boy or girl (not all sculpts have this option).
The shipping cost will be calculated in the first month when you pay the deposit. The shipping fee is for the cost of shipping by courier (DHL) and includes insurance. We have never lost a baby in transit, but if the worst should happen and the baby is lost in transit, you will be refunded the purchase cost of your baby and we will do our very best to work with you to make you another baby as soon as we can, for the same purchase price.
Once you have selected your choices, you will be asked to pay a deposit - this makes up the first of your twelve layaway payments, plus shipping and insurance.
What happens next?
Once the deposit has been paid, we will contact you by email to confirm your timeline for payments and confirm when your baby should be ready. We will also send you a copy of these terms for you to refer to, and we will set up your monthly invoicing.
We might start work on your baby right away, or it might be part way through your payment plan. We will send you updates and photographs once we start working on your baby. That's when it gets really exciting!!
Once you have put a deposit on a baby, you cannot switch to another sculpt or transfer the payments you have made to another product in the form of 'credit'.
During the layaway period you will be sent a Paypal invoice every month automatically for payment. If you miss any payments, we will send you a reminder, but it is your responsibility to make sure you have caught up with all the payments by the end of the nine months layaway period.

If you are a new customer to Carolyn Doughty Dolls, you might feel nervous of entering into an agreement with a business that you may not know, and might be in a different country.
We have been making silicone baby dolls since 2013 and have built up a strong following on facebook and youtube.

What happens if I can’t pay?
Because this is a custom made doll, all payments are considered non-refundable and a missing a payment could result in you losing all of your previous payments, and the doll.
If, after paying the deposit and perhaps some of the payments, you find you are struggling with the payments, please contact us, we might be able to arrange for you to pay smaller amounts over a longer period of time, or have a payment holiday.
If you miss a payment and we do not hear from you, you are at risk of losing the doll and any payments made.
If you are in genuine difficulty and find you cannot continue with the payments, we might be able to arrange to sell the doll (or the 'slot') on your behalf and, if we are successful, then we will refund some, or all, of the payments you have made (but not the deposit – we retain this to recover our materials and time involved).
What if Carolyn Doughty Dolls cannot finish making the doll?
If, for any reason, we are unable to supply the doll that is reserved for you (for example if the mould unexpectedly developed a problem and we had to cancel all pours for that baby), then all your payments and deposit will be returned to you in full. Alternatively if you prefer, you might be able to transfer your payment credits to another baby and we will try and expedite you to the top of that list so that your baby is ready when originally planned.
I don't live in the UK, can you ship to my country?
We do ship to most countries worldwide. If in doubt, please contact us before ordering so that we can check for you.
Your baby will be sent home to you via DHL which we have found to be extremely reliable, safe and quick. It is completely tracked and we have never yet lost a parcel.
IMPORTANT: Many countries add a customs/excise duty onto your purchase. It will be your responsibility to pay that duty. If in doubt please find out before ordering, about your countries rules on receiving goods from the UK.
