Joseph was intially a limited edition of 20 which is now fulfilled, but the mould is still going strong and we have released 5 BONUS BABIES which are now available to order as finished babies.
Joseph is a sweet sleeping baby, poured in super-soft silicone, is around 17" which is perfect size for fitting 'tiny baby' size clothing, and weighs around 7 lbs 7.5 oz.
Joseph is only available as a boy.
We can insert soft metal armatures into your baby at no additional cost - if you would like armatures please indicate this at the time of ordering.
Information about Wire Armatures
Full-body wire armatures (including spine, limbs and head) must be installed before any finishing work begins, such as painting, fixing or rooting, as the armature becomes an integral part of the silicone structure. Therefore we ask for payment of the armature in full at the time of ordering and it is not part of the payment plan. When used with care, armatured dolls can remain beautiful and functional for many years. However, wire armatures are subject to metal fatigue over time. Repeated bending—particularly in the same area of a limb—may eventually cause the internal wire to weaken or break. If a wire does break, it cannot be repaired or replaced, and there is a risk that a broken wire end could migrate within the silicone and potentially work through to the surface. For this reason, armatured dolls should be posed gently and treated as display or light-handling pieces rather than fully poseable toys.
Joseph is sculpted, moulded, poured, painted and rooted by Carolyn Doughty. You can choose the colour of hair. He is poured in our soft blend 'mallow' silicone which is the highest quality blend of prosthetic grade silicone.
If you order a Joseph baby, when you pay your deposit you select how long a timeframe you would like to pay him off. We will send you an email confirming the details and timeframe, and then in the first week of each month (or thereabouts) we will send you a paypal invoice for you to make your monthly payment.
We will aim to get your baby home to you by the end of the final payment month. Please bear in mind this is not an exact science and although we rarely miss deadlines, there is a lot of work involved and occasionally we get a little behind - if this happens we will contact you with a new proposed end date (this shouldn't be more than a month or two later).
Joseph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a small box opening.
Your baby's mouth will normally be opened to take a modified dummy/pacifier and a modified dummy/pacifier will be supplied with your baby, if you would like more you can purchase these for £10 each.
Your baby will be shipped via DHL which means very fast delivery. Please note we are based in the UK, if you are buying from overseas you will probably be charged customs fees or taxes depending on your country's customs fees, please check this yourself if you are unsure. These custom fees could be as much at 30% of the value of the baby, so please be make sure you set aside a sum to pay this.
