Poured in super-soft silicone, this sweet baby sleepy monkey is so sweet.
Our blank babies are usually poured to order, and delivery time is around 2-4 weeks.
Sculpted by Teresa Russon, moulded and poured by Carolyn Doughty, this baby is poured in our soft blend 'mallow' silicone which is the highest quality blend of prosthetic grade silicone.
Pipkin is poured in our super soft silicone and will be cuddly and soft, but we can add wire armatures which will enable the monkey to be posed but not stiff enough to hold its own weight. The armatures will cost an extra £150 and must be added at time of ordering, they cannot be added later on, as an afterthought.
The babies have been thoroughly cleaned of mould agents so there is no need to wash, and are lightly dusted with silicone velvet powder for transport so is peachy soft and can be painted directly onto the surface.
This baby will be poured to order so could take up to 4 weeks from order to receiving your baby, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Wire Armatures (monkey in photographs has armatures inserted):
We can supply this baby with an option of full-body wire armatures for an extra cost of £150.
Full-body wire armatures (including spine, limbs and head) are installed before any finishing work begins, such as painting, fixing or rooting, as the armature becomes an integral part of the silicone structure.
When used with care, armatured dolls can remain beautiful and functional for many years. However, wire armatures are subject to metal fatigue over time. Repeated bending—particularly in the same area of a limb—may eventually cause the internal wire to weaken or break. If a wire does break, it cannot be repaired or replaced, and there is a risk that a broken wire end could migrate within the silicone and potentially work through to the surface.
For this reason, armatured dolls should be posed gently and treated as display or light-handling pieces rather than fully poseable toys.
